I often think about how to talk about my photography. As an abstract painter, I see myself as an artist who captures forms, designs, and textures in nature — just like I would create them with my brush. The shapes of bark, wet rock surfaces, tumbling waters, and other natural forms are my canvas, and the light has to be just right.
